LAST NIGHT OF THE PROMS We welcome back the Phoenix Singers (of St. George’s Day fame) for an evening of light entertainment to celebrate a ‘last night of the proms’ style evening. We will start with some familiar songs from the ‘shows’, take a break for supper and then enjoy some of our most popular British songs which normally form part of a last night of the proms style performance. We are not quite the Albert Hall, but we will encourage you to join in and raise the roof with your rendition of all the old favourites. Supper will be light, cold and varied, along with soft drinks. Pease bring your favourite tipple with you to add to the atmosphere and any Union Jacks you may have. We need to know numbers in advance for catering purposes so please get your tickets at £5 each from the office (Mon – Fri 10 – 12) or Newsmag or telephone 377493/375544. |

QUIZ NIGHT Our usual winter quiz, along with a fish & chip supper will be hosted by Chris Bailey, quiz master extraordinaire. Teams can consist of up to 6 or just come along and we will group teams as you arrive. We will have soft drinks for all but please bring your own alcohol. Tickets are £7.00 or £6.50 for members. This quiz is great fun so put this in your diary for a cold winter’s evening. Tickets as above for films. Our autumn season of films start in October this year and will continue to be held on every 2nd Monday in the month starting at 7.30pm. Tickets will be available in the ECA office (Mon – Fri. 10 – 12noon) or from Newsmag in the High Street |

EMSWORTH ART GROUP AUTUMN EXHIBITION AND SALE OF PAINTINGS Admission Free. Local artists will again be displaying their paintings in the Lumley Room at the Community Centre at the rear of the Fire Station, North Street, Emsworth. All paintings displayed will be for Sale. The diverse range of work on display will include water colours, vibrant acrylics, traditional oils and charming pastels. |

It is with regret that we have to announce that we are not able to put on Emsworth’s Got Talent this year. Due to staff cuts, the people who ran it so successfully last year are no longer able to help us. However, a limited version, ‘BUZ’s Got Talent’, will be put on during the autumn by the new Youth Club (see article above). If you’re in school years 9,10 or 11 and would like to take part, please get in touch with the BUZ team. If anyone is willing and able to help us run Emsworth’s Got Talent once again in 2013, please contact Jean Tier on 01243 378470.
